DESCRIPTION
EduHacks 2025 is a 48-hour international hackathon where talented students from around the world are invited to form teams based on shared interests. The competition challenges participants to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the design of impactful and sustainable solutions, addressing challenges across AI, robotics, sensing, and beyond.
Projects will be judged not only on their creativity and vision, but also on their ability to deliver measurable and practical outcomes. Over the course of the event, students will gain a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collaborate with peers across disciplines and cultures, applying hands-on technical skills while tackling real-world sustainability challenges.
EduHacks fosters an environment where designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs come together with a shared passion for technology for good—redefining how innovation can drive progress in areas such as environmental protection, resource circularity, public health, and education.

Competition Timeline & Location
EduHacks 2025 kicks off in late September with online preliminaries and culminates in Global Finals this December at Nanhang Jincheng College.

Online Preliminary
Teams register and submit basic information through the official Google Form. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected candidates may be invited to a short interview round.

Global Finals
48-hour in-person hackathon at Nanhang Jincheng College, Nanjing, China. Top teams from all regions compete in AI/LLM challenges, robotics obstacle tasks, and open-topic innovation. Full sponsorship includes flights, accommodation, meals, visa support, and cultural activities.
Organizational Structure & Responsibilities



Competition Organizing Committee
Led by Nanhang Jincheng College, HackHub and China Creative Studies Institute, with guidance from Jiangsu Artificial Intelligence Society. Supported by Seentao Technology Co., Ltd. The committee oversees global event coordination, regional track management, technical platform support, media promotion, international liaison, and cultural exchange activities for the December finals in Nanjing.
Expert Committee
Comprised of academicians, renowned international professors, and industry leaders from global tech companies. The committee provides academic guidance, evaluates project innovation, establishes judging criteria for the four competition themes, and oversees the 48-hour hackathon format combining AI/LLM challenges, robotics tasks, and open innovation projects. Judges include professors, industry experts, and entrepreneurs with expertise in sustainability and technology for good.

Submission Requirements



Topic Requirements
Based on the theme "Intelligent Symbiosis: Building a Sustainable Future", participants must choose from four themes: AI & Large Language Models, Smart Equipment & Robotics, Intelligent Sensing & IoT, or Open Innovation (sustainability, health, education). Teams should explore harmonious coexistence between human society and intelligent systems, creating solutions with societal significance and industrial value.
Presentation Requirements
Work prototypes should be completed based on open-source components or open-source hardware platforms. Teams are expected to work on improving, upgrading, and testing the product prototype. The work prototype should demonstrate certain innovative functionalities, either in hardware or software. Any additional submission requirements should follow the guidelines provided by the competition platform.
Tech stacks
Participants are free to choose their tech stacks and use relevant tools and equipment.
Innovation Requirements
Projects will be judged on Innovation & Creativity, Design & User Experience, Technical Difficulty, Functionality & Completion, and Impact & Relevance. Teams can continuously improve during the 48-hour build & presentation at finals. Projects must be original (declare prior code if used) and open-source tools are encouraged.
Intellectual Property Requirements
Intellectual property rights of the participating works belong to the participants, but consideration should be given to the rights of the competition organizers and host. The organizing and host entities have the right to permanently and freely use the works for demonstration, partial or full publication worldwide (without disclosing technical details). Participants must ensure the originality of their works and not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property or other rights.
